Even initial data (single visit) from the wide area Vera C. Rubin Observatory Legacy Survey of Space and Time are sufficient to reveal a plethora of new bright strong lens candidates. Indeed, these early strong lens candidates are a priority for the SL community as they are (1) suitably bright SL targets for follow-up and (2) an essential list of strong lenses that can be monitored in the LSST's alert stream to search for lensed transients. In this talk, we will discuss prospects for discovery and early science with Strong Lenses (both static and variable), as well as outlining possible strong lensing projects that could be conducted as part of commissioning. The implications of the observing strategy will also be discussed that may impact the strong lens samples we are sensitive to during the early phases of the survey.
